Installing MCorbs

Step 1

Locate a stud in the knee wall to attach the MCorb and cut out a section of the drywall approximately 3 1/4 by 5 1/4 inches to allow the MCorb to sit flush against the stud.

Step 2

Attach the Mcorb with screws in the top and backside using a level to be sure the MCorb’s top plate is level.

Step 3

All Mcorbs must be level with each other. When installing subsequent MCorbs it may be necessary to use shims to achieve this (depending on how level the knee wall is).

Step 4

Once all MCorbs are installed and level you are ready to install the backsplash. After the backsplash is installed just apply an adhesive to the top plate of the MCorb and install the bar top.

Note

It is important to take into account the thickness of the MCorb’s top plate when determining backsplash height as it will need to be slightly higher than the knee wall once the MCorb is installed. It is recommended not to have a span of more than one stud in between MCorbs. One MCorb every other stud is recommended.
